Frequently Asked Questions
Which mobile plan offers the best daily value in India? ▼
The "best" daily value depends on your usage. For heavy data users, Jio and Airtel offer competitive plans with unlimited 5G data in select circles. For users who primarily make calls, BSNL's long-validity plans often work out cheaper per day. Use PlanPick's Cost/Day sort filter to find the most economical option for your needs.
What does "Cost/GB" mean and why does it matter? ▼
Cost per GB (Cost/GB) is calculated by dividing the plan price by the total data offered. It tells you how much you're paying for each gigabyte of data. A lower Cost/GB means better data value. This metric is especially useful for comparing plans with different validity periods — a ₹200 plan for 30 days may look cheaper than a ₹500 plan for 84 days, but the 84-day plan often has a much lower Cost/GB.
How often is the plan data updated? ▼
We update plan data manually by cross-referencing official operator websites (Airtel, Jio, Vi, and BSNL). The "Last Updated" date shown next to each provider's tab reflects the most recent data refresh. Telecom plans can change frequently, especially during promotional periods, so we recommend confirming the price on the operator's official website before recharging.
What is the difference between unlimited data and data with a daily cap? ▼
"Unlimited data" in Indian telecom context typically means unlimited browsing at high speed (4G/5G) up to a daily fair-usage policy (FUP) limit — usually 1.5GB to 2.5GB per day. After the FUP is exhausted, speeds are throttled to 64 kbps for the remainder of that day, resetting at midnight. Plans with a fixed data pool (e.g., 2GB total) allow you to use that data across the full validity at full speed until it runs out.
Is PlanPick affiliated with Airtel, Jio, Vi, or BSNL? ▼
No. PlanPick is an independent comparison tool and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any telecom operator. We collect data from public sources to help users make informed decisions. We are supported by display advertising (Google AdSense) which allows us to keep the service free.
