Understanding PlanPick Cards: A Visual Guide
Confused by all the numbers? Here is a breakdown of exactly what each metric on our plan cards means, from Cost/Day to Unlimited 5G tags.
The Anatomy of a Plan Card
When you use the Plan Explorer, each recharge option is presented as a “Card”. We’ve packed a lot of data into these small boxes to help you make a decision quickly.
Here is an example breakdown of a typical plan card:
🟢 THE EXAMPLE CARD

[ DATA PLAN ] [ ⚡ UNLIMITED 5G ]
₹349 2 GB /day
28 Days • ₹12.46/Day 56 GB Total • ₹6.23/GB
📞 Unlimited Calls 💬 100 SMS/Day
What Each Part Means
1. Plan Type (Top Left)
The label (e.g., “Regular”, “Data”, “Annual”) tells you the category of the plan.
- Regular: Includes calls, data, and SMS.
- Data-only: No calling benefits, just a data top-up.
2. Unlimited 5G Tag (Top Right)
If you see a cyan bolt icon, this plan offers Unlimited 5G data. In most cases (like Jio and Airtel), data used on a 5G network doesn’t count against your daily 2GB limit!
3. Price (Large Text, Left)
The total amount you need to pay for the recharge. This is inclusive of GST as per Indian telecom standards.
4. Data per Day (Large Text, Right)
The amount of high-speed data you get every 24 hours. Once you exhaust this, your speed will typically drop to 64 Kbps until midnight.
5. Validity & Cost/Day (Sub-text, Left)
- Validity: How many days the plan lasts.
- Cost/Day: The most important metric! It tells you your actual daily budget. A ₹2999 annual plan might look expensive, but its Cost/Day is often lower than a ₹299 monthly plan.
6. Total Data & Cost/GB (Sub-text, Right)
- Total Data: The sum of all data you’ll get over the full validity.
- Cost/GB: Tells you the “Data Value”. If you are a heavy downloader, look for plans with the lowest Cost/GB.
7. Calls & Talktime
- Unlimited Calls: You can talk as much as you want to any network in India.
- Talktime (₹): If it’s not unlimited, this shows the actual balance you get for calls.
8. SMS Quota
Shows how many texts you can send. Usually, this is “100 SMS/Day” for most regular plans.
How to Find the Best Value
